A box spring or a slatted base? What is the difference?

The main difference is that a slatted base is placed inside a frame; a bedstead. A box spring is a standalone sleep system where the comfort is integrated within the upholstered box spring.

Technology plays a major role here. There are, in fact, various types of box springs and slatted bases. These differ from each other in construction and suspension. We distinguish between active and passive bases.

A passive base is a base without resilience, meaning sleeping comfort must come entirely from the mattress. An active base is a base with high resilience, providing more support and reducing pressure on the shoulders and hips. Therefore, it is better to choose an active rather than a passive base. We would be happy to explain the differences in comfort and price in more detail.

Bedsteads

A bed frame consists of a bed surround with a separate base and mattress. The frame determines the appearance. The base and mattress determine how comfortable the bed is. You can adjust the comfort without replacing the entire bed. Practical and durable. So even if your preferences change, the bed remains usable. Bed frames are available in various materials and heights. Low and airy or large and robust. Made of wood, fabric, or leather. Our bed frames are available in many widths and lengths. The possibilities are endless.

Kids and teenagers

A good bed is an investment in your child's growth. And nowadays, these beds are available not only in single sizes but also in extra-wide (and extra-long) versions, such as 120 and 140 cm wide. This gives them more space, ensures they will enjoy it for an extended period, and makes having a guest extra cozy.

A growing child deserves a good bed to grow healthily into an adult. This can be achieved with a bed frame of your choice or a box spring. The mattress is the most important factor for comfort, but naturally, there are numerous options for both to create a dream bedroom for your child.

Comfort height

A bed at a comfort height makes getting up and getting into bed noticeably easier. The bed is positioned higher than average, meaning you have to bend less and your body moves more smoothly. This is pleasant if your back, knees, or hips require some extra attention. But it is also beneficial if you simply appreciate convenience and a bed that feels logical for everyday use. We tailor the entry height to your height and sleeping position. This ensures you get up with stability and lie down comfortably without compromising on appearance.

These beds are available in various styles. Sleek or warm, wood or fabric, box spring or bed frame. The height is less noticeable than you might think, but you will feel the difference every day. We would be happy to show you what will work well for you and explain the available options.
